Biased-based (Racial) Profiling Policy and Reports

Biased-based (Racial) Profiling Policy

It is the policy of the Robinson Police Department that employees will not engage in any activities that are discriminatory or indicative of the practice of bias-based policing. The Robinson Police Department has established a Policy (PDF) concerning the prohibition of bias-based (racial) profiling. Personnel will focus on the behavior of an individual and/or specific suspect information in taking police action. Individuals will not be targeted for enforcement actions, detention, field contacts, asset seizure or forfeiture, or interdiction solely on the basis of race, ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, religion, economic status, age, cultural group or any other identifiable group.

Any citizen who feels like they have been targeted by a Robinson Police Officer in violation of this policy can file a complaint online, by mail, by telephone, or in person. The complaint will be thoroughly investigated and reviewed by the Chief of Police. The person filing the complaint will be notified of the outcome of the investigation. Find information regarding Making a Complaint below or by clicking here.
