City Auctions

The Robinson City Council authorizes the disposal of all surplus, forfeited, and confiscated property for the City of Robinson. Goods are disposed of through the services of a contracted auctioneer.

The preferred method of disposal is on-line public auction. All surplus item disposals will be announced on this web page and periodically on additional city communication channels.

Vendor Selection for Auction

Vendor selection to carry out an auction on behalf of the city is based on the City of Robinson’s purchasing policy. The policy requires purchases over $3,000 and under $50,000 to get at least 3 quotes. If a city is obtaining bids between $3,000 and $50,000, state law requires local government to contact at least 2 historically underutilized businesses.

The penalties for violating state purchasing laws can be found by clicking here and scrolling down to Subchapter D: Enforcement.
