Permits and Inspections
Permits and Inspections Department is here to help you with the guidelines and permits needed in order to make improvements to your home or business. The department can also assist with commercial development or redevelopment in the City of Robinson, including information for companies looking to expand or develop their business.
The City issues one permit per project. All contractors, including the general contractor must register and stay current with the city. Registration will be through MyGov and instructions can be found here.
Office Business Hours
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Inspection Hours
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Inspections are Performed Once a Day
Schedule before 7:00 a.m. for same business day inspection.
Schedule after 7:00 a.m. for next business day inspection.
Inspection Requests
Inspection requests can be made by emailing Inspections@RobinsonTexas.org or by calling the inspection request line at (254) 242-0008.
Inspection Requests Should Include:
Your name and company name
Address OR permit number of jobsite. Include suite numbers, lock box codes and any instructions to the inspector necessary for entry. Example: Access hatch is in electrical room on North side of building, key under flower pot on front porch, etc.
Call back telephone number / on site contact if required.
Type of inspection you are requesting.
Take Special Note:
Time you are requesting the inspection to take place (a.m./p.m. only)
Please note: When calling for inspections, the inspection will be scheduled for the next business day. If you need same day inspection, we must receive it by 7:00am or it will be assigned the next day.Emergency inspections may be called in at any time and will incur a $75.00 inspection fee.
Building Standards
The City of Robinson is currently using the 2018 International Code Council Series and 2017 National Electrical Code for building standards. Setback requirements can be found in the Code of Ordinances. For buildings that are on septic systems, the Waco McLennan County Public Health District governs the plans and installation.
